Microsoft 2FA / MFA (2 trinn autentisering)

What is 2FA / MFA ?

2-Factor authentication is an addition to your username and password. It adds Multiple Factors of Authentication (MFA).

If someone get a hold of your username and password, they will not be able to gain access as they need the code which we refer to as the 2nd factor.

Why do I have to use it ?

Microsoft requires all users with a certain access level to have 2FA enabled to access resources on microsoft systems. Examples are office 365, admin panel, azure portal and more.

How do I enable it ?

If your user is required to enable 2FA, you should be prompted about it upon login to a microsoft service.

You can also configure the settings here; https://aka.ms/mfasetup

What do I need ?

An Authenticator app on your phone. You can use Microsoft and / or Google and / or other code apps.
