Video and phone call in a chat
These calls are private and won't appear in any team conversation. Entries for the calls will appear in your chat.
From Existing Chat
Go to your chat list, click on the chat you want to open.
In the upper right-hand corner, choose either the symbol for Video call (camera icon) or Audio call (phone icon) to start a call.
From new Chat
Go to your chat list, and click the New chat icon to start a new conversation.
Type the name or names in the To: field at the top of your new chat.
Then click the Video call or Audio call icon to start a call.
Meetings
How to invite more people into the meeting in chat
Click on the icon showing two figures and a +sign to add people to the video or audio meeting.
Invite people during a meeting
When you're in a meeting, select Show participants (the two figures) in your meeting controls to see the people who were invited but haven't joined yet.
To ask someone who was invited to join the meeting, select their name → More options → Ask to join.
Schedule a meeting
Select Schedule a meeting (calendar icon) in a chat (below the box where you type a new message) to book a meeting with the people in the chat.
Go to Calendar on the left side of the menu and select New meeting in the top right corner.
How to schedule a Teams meeting from Outlook
To schedule a meeting, open Outlook and switch to the calendar view.
Add your invitees to the To: field, then click on Teams meeting before you press send.
You can also invite people from outside your organization from Outlook.
Just be sure to add them as guests before the meeting starts or they will have to join anonymously.
Make it a channel meeting
Select Schedule a meeting (calendar icon) in a chat (below the box where you type a new message) to book a meeting with the people in the chat.
Go to Calendar on the left side of the menu and select New meeting in the top right corner.
Type the name of a channel where it says Add channel (under the time and date fields).
Channels can't be edited or added once the invite is sent.
You'll need to send a new invite with the updated channel. This function does not work from Outlook invite.
How to join a meeting
Right-click an event in your calendar to respond, remove it if it's canceled, or open the invitation to view the meeting details.
You will also get options to Join online and Chat with participants.
Teams meetings will show a join button on an event in your calendar five minutes before the start of a meeting.
Once someone joins the meeting, the event will change colors to let you know they're online.
Select Join to open the meeting settings window to confirm your preferred camera and mic settings before joining the online meeting.
Give and take control of shared content

If you want another meeting participant to change a file,
help you present, or demonstrate something, you can give control to that person.
You will both be in control of the sharing, and you can take back control anytime.
On the sharing toolbar, select Give control.
Select the name of the person you want to give control to.
Teams sends a notification to that person to let them know you’re sharing control.
While you’re sharing control, they can make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen.To take control back, select Take back control.

To take control while another person is sharing, select Request control. Then, the person sharing will approve or deny your request.
While you have control, you can make selections, edits, and other modifications to the shared screen.
When you’re done, select Release control to stop sharing control.
Background effects
Click the three dots on your meeting screen and select show background effects.
Once you've done this, you will be presented with a menu on the right side of your screen, showing all of the available background settings to choose from.
Simply select one of these and click on Preview to try it out — or select Apply which will make it live.
NOTE: When you use the Preview button, this will temporarily disable your video and people in your meeting won't be able to see you.
Zoom in to shared content
Want to get a better look at shared content?
Click and drag to see different areas.
And to zoom in or out, try the following:
Pinch in or out on your trackpad.
Use the keyboard shortcuts Control + Plus sign and Control + Minus sign.
Hold the Control key and scroll with your mouse.
Share your screen
To share your screen in a meeting, select Share in your meeting controls.
Then, choose to present your entire desktop, a window, a PowerPoint file, or a whiteboard.
When you're done sharing, go to your meeting controls and select Stop sharing.
NOTE: If you're using a Mac, you'll be prompted to change your privacy settings before you're able to share your screen.
Device Settings
On the meeting bar, click on the three dots → Show Device Settings to adjust audio devices, speaker, microphone and camera.
Further Options
On the meetings control bar click on the three dots for further options. The menu below will appear.
