Using and Configuring your Activity Feed

The activity feed; accessed by clicking on the Activity tab in your left sidebar—displays all of your colleagues activities across the
teams, channels, chats, and apps that you have access to.

Notification(s)

When a red circle appears next to Activity, you have a notification; such as an @mention or a reply—in your feed.
These notifications remain in your feed for 14 days. After that they expire and no longer show in your feed.

Customize your notifications in activity

When you have your activity feed open,
click on settings to further explore and customize what and how you want to be notified about events in Teams.

You can also access this menu by clicking on your profile photo/initials in the upper righthand corner, and then select Settings.

The menu below will pop up.

By clicking on the arrow next to the different topics you will get different options on how you want to receive notifications.

Filter

Select Filter at the top right corner of the feed to show specific types of messages such as unread messages, @mentions, replies, and likes.

You might have to click on the three dots to get a fuller filter menu:

Activity feed symbols

We attached unique symbols to different types of notifications in your feed.
That way, you can look through your feed and prioritize based on the following:

Settings

Click on your photo/initials in the upper right-hand corner. Choose ‘settings’ and the menu below will pop up. Here you can customize:

• General: such as language settings, theme and if you would like for the app to continue to run after closing the window.

• Privacy: such as allowing senders to see when you have read a message and manage priority access when your status is set to ‘Do not disturb’.

• Notifications: such as how and what types of notifications you want to receive on messages, mentions and meetings.

• Devices: such as audio and camera.

• Permissions: such as Media, location, notifications etc.

• Calls: such as choose how you want to handle incoming calls and choose a ringtone.

How to change your profile photo

Click on your initials or photo in the upper right corner and then click on your name.
Choose Change Picture and then select the photo you want to upload.
